Mission Statement

Through strong leadership and professionalism, Utah Women in Film provides educational, networking and mentoring programs for professional and aspiring filmmakers.

About Your Chapter/History

Utah Women in Film was founded in 2011 by a group of talented women whose mission was help local women filmmakers break free from the disparity of women in the film industry.

Utah offers filmmakers a wide variety of landscapes and natural features. The tax incentives are great and filming here can keep you within your budget.

Brief Description of your Key Programs

Utah Women in Film membership provides women filmmakers the opportunity to master their skills and network with other women filmmakers.

As part of our ongoing fundraising efforts, some of our classes and lectures are offered to non-members for a nominal fee. Those indicated by an asterisk are open to the general public, unless designated a member-only event.

Some of the member benefits provided are:

- Classroom education in various areas of filmmaking *

- Presentations and workshops by guest lecturers

The following benefits apply to members at no cost:

- Access to Information on film jobs and other film-related opportunities posted on our Facebook page

- Membership in the Women in Film and Television International organization

- Member-only events sponsored by local filmmakers and film organizations who provide updated film industry information and opportunities

- Opportunities to serve on film panels at the Sundance Film Festival, Comic Con, Fantasy Con, Film Quest and other local events

- Mentoring services conducted by local professional filmmakers

Utah is one of the best places to film. Our varied landscapes and climate provide endless opportunities for filmmakers. We also have great tax incentives.
